Jeanie Johnston will dock at the Maritime Center, 10 Wharfside St, Charleston, South Carolina at 2pm on Thursday 15th May, at the end of a three day voyage from Savannah, Georgia. The ship will be open to visitors from Friday, 16th to Sunday 18th May, and will depart for Washington D.C. on Monday 19th May. The Jeanie Johnston will be open to visitors as follows: Admission charges are: In addition to tours of the Jeanie Johnston, a variety of activities will take place whilst the ship is in port in Charleston. Adjacent to the Maritime Center is the shipyard where the SC Maritime Foundation is building a wooden tall ship of the pilot schooner type, the Spirit of South Carolina. When completed, the Spirit's primary mission will be a sail training and classroom-at-sea vessel, offering a variety of academic programs through South Carolina and regional schools and colleges. Tours of the shipyard are available daily. MARITIME HERITAGE FESTIVAL In conjunction with the Charleston to Bermuda Race, the SC Maritime Foundation is holding a festival which will include tours of the Spirit Shipyard; the Tall Ship Jeanie Johnston; the Childrens Cove (including childrens boat building and activities); Family Boat Building, Nautical exhibits and lectures, Knot Tying Demonstrations, Gig rows by the New Charleston Mosquito Fleet, Sea Shanties and a party Saturday night at the Shipyard - please come along and enjoy the fun!
